Town and State officials successfully saved the northern half of the mountain (Marcap property) making it more important than ever that the plan to place 62 homes adjacent to the wetlands be scrapped!

Besides the insidious nature of leveling a mountain, it is also not fair to tax payers (both state and town)  that sacrifice and put aside land only to have developers capitalize on it by promoting their retail property as "bordering protected spaces".  Furthermore, Cedar Mountain is completely self-sufficient and  requires no maintenance (costly monitoring will be necessary on many levels if residential zones border the wetlands!)

We are not out of the woods yet!

The possibility still exists that Toll Bros. may build 62 single homes spanning from the water tower to Cedarcrest (Balf property)!

Be Prepared to Rescue Displaced Wildlife When Construction Gets Underway on Cedar Mountain

As unfortunate as it may be, it is a reality that we must accept being Cedar Mountain has been a sanctuary for wildlife that have been forced from their habitats by encroachment. It is all that remains in its natural state from the Hartford boundary south of route 84. Please continue to fight to protect this precious parcel of land we call Cedar Mountain and God bless all of you for all that has been done!
