St. Francis of Assisis Prayers for Pets

Saint Francis of Assisi, for Our Pets Novena prayer:
Good St. Francis, you loved all of God's creatures. To you they were your brothers and sisters. Help us to follow your example of treating every living thing with kindness. St. Francis, Patron Saint of animals, watch over my pet and keep my companion safe and healthy. Amen.
Saint Francis of Assisi, for Sick Animals
Heavenly Father, you created all things for your glory and made us stewards of this creature if it is your will, restore it to health and strength. Blessed are you, Lord God, and holy is your name for ever and ever. Amen
Saint Francis of Assisi, for our Animal Friends
Heavenly Father, our human ties with our friends of other species is wonderful and special gift from you. We now ask you to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. Give us, their human friends, new understanding of our responsibilities to these creatures of yours. They have trust in us as we have in you; our souls and theirs are on this earth together to give one another friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and fill your ill or suffering animals with healing Light and strength to overcome whatever weakness of body they have.
(Sienna of Cedar Mountain).
Your goodness is turned upon every living thing and your grace flows to all your creatures. From our souls to theirs goodness flows, touching each of us with the reflection of your love. Grant to our special animal companions long and healthy lives. Give them good relationships with us, and if you see fit to take them from us, help us to understand that they are not gone from us, but only drawing closer to you. Grant our prayer through the intercession of good St. Francis of Assisi, who honored you through all your creatures. Give him the power to watch over our animal friends until they are safely with you in eternity, where we someday hope to join them in giving you honor forever. Amen.
Prayer for a Pet in Transition or About to Die
"Loving God, our beloved pet and companion, (Pet's name)
is on his/her final journey. We will miss (Pet's name) dearly.
We thank you for the gift that he/she has been to us.
Give us hope that, in your great kindness,
you may restore (Pet's name) in your heavenly Kingdom
according to your wisdom,
which goes beyond our human understanding."

Prayer in Memory of a Pet
Almighty God,
I was fortunate to receive the gift of (pet name) from You
Now that he (she) has left this life,
please help me cope with my loss with strength and courage.
I know that my beloved companion no longer suffers,
and will live on in many fond memories.
May they be treated with the care and respect
As he (she) has enriched my life,
I pray that I may enrich the lives of others. Amen.

The Bridge (Pet Loss Comfort)
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called "The Rainbow Bridge" because of its
many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm Spring
weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
But there is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who
loved them on earth.
So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when
one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring,
and this one runs from the group.
You have been seen.
When you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again.
You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again
to be separated.

I will help you pray for gypsy. Please ask St Martin de Porres to help heal Gypsy as he is a saint who is excellent with dogs. Has Gypsy been to the vet? Can his teeth be worked on, or can Gypsy get antibiotics at least? Would that help? Is he on a special diet for his kidneys? I will pray for him. Please let me know how he is doing. |
